The Conversation That Changed Herb's Direction

One of the conversations we revisit in this episode is our interview with John Kennedy about neuroplasticity.

Season 2, Episode 73 — John Kennedy

Neuroplasticity Unplugged: Rewire Your Family's Future!

That conversation ultimately led Herb to experience cognitive brain training for himself, pursue training in the modality, and begin bringing this additional resource to the people and families we serve.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker A:

Hello, and welcome.

Speaker A:

We are here on episode 200.

Speaker B:

200.

Speaker B:

It has been a fantastic journey.

Speaker A:

It has.

Speaker A:

And we can't believe how far we've come and what we've learned and everything that's been going on.

Speaker A:

What did you think?

Speaker A:

Did you think we'd ever get here to 200?

Speaker A:

And do you think it would be the way it is now?

Speaker B:

You know, when we started the show, I couldn't put myself into the future, so I had no idea how far we would go or.

Speaker B:

Or where we would actually make it to.

Speaker B:

When we started, we were working with a coach who said that creating your own stage and your own platform helps you create the authority that you need to grow your business.

Speaker B:

And so, for me, this was.

Speaker B:

This was just more of a business decision to start.

Speaker B:

I had been making my own little reports on.

Speaker B:

On Facebook for a while, and when they started bringing this in, I remember that you were, like, scared to do this.

Speaker B:

You didn't want to.

Speaker B:

We fought.

Speaker B:

We didn't fight, but it's like you fought tooth and nail, just like, oh,.

Speaker A:

You're gonna take the lead.

Speaker A:

I'm not gonna take.

Speaker B:

And then once.

Speaker B:

And then after, like, the second episode, you're all like, oh, I like this.

Speaker B:

And you jumped in and ran with it.

Speaker B:

So for me, I didn't see the future back then, and I am just pleased as punch with.

Speaker B:

With where we've gone and, you know, how do you feel about that?

Speaker A:

I feel absolutely excited, and I am so glad that we are here at episode 200.

Speaker A:

And for those people who are used to our beginning and endings, you've already noticed, this is a little bit different.

Speaker A:

It is Herb and I Talking about our 200 episodes, what we've learned, where we've come from.

Speaker A:

And the thing for me was I always knew I wanted to talk to the families, to our audience.

Speaker A:

I always wanted to talk about education and what it means to take charge of your child's education.

Speaker A:

But the thing that kind of grown and morphed over the 200 episodes is how deep we actually get to go on those conversations.

Speaker A:

I mean, we have talked about education being not just school, not just academics, but the growing and helping children learn about the whole body.

Speaker B:

Did you think that we would make it to 200 episodes?

Speaker A:

I didn't think so.

Speaker A:

I think we'd pro.

Speaker A:

I thought we'd probably get to about a hundred and probably stop because it would have served its purpose.

Speaker A:

Kind of like you were talking about a couple minutes ago.

Speaker A:

This was more of a business venture at first to bring authority and bring people into our realm and things like that.

Speaker A:

But it's become such a passion and something I absolutely love.

Speaker A:

I love when we get to sit down and talk to people.

Speaker A:

So I'm glad we're here and I am excited to say that we're going to keep going.

Speaker B:

Was there any time in the middle of all that that you like, I don't want to do this anymore.

Speaker B:

And I was like, I just kind of done with this.

Speaker B:

It's getting old.

Speaker A:

Not really.

Speaker A:

I think the hardest, the hardest thing was whenever at the very beginning, I had to go source every single expert I had to go look at and try to find somebody new for each week's episode.

Speaker A:

And was the beauty of what happened after we reach episode 100, and actually about 125, suddenly people started coming to us.

Speaker A:

They're like, hey, you have this show called Bringing Education Home.

Speaker A:

And it sounds like it's a perfect fit for what I want to help explore with families and audiences.

Speaker A:

Can I be on your show?

Speaker A:

So it really was amazing how that switch happened and how we've been able to connect with a lot more people because of that.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So you spent 30 years in education.

Speaker B:

After 200 plus conversations with experts, parents, authors, practitioners, everything.

Speaker B:

Has anything changed in the way that you think about education?

Speaker A:

It solidified where I was after my 27 teaching, 27 year teaching career.

Speaker A:

I knew that families needed to continue to have a say in their child's education and the way it should look inside and outside of the classroom.

Speaker A:

And all these experts, all these practitioners, everybody we've talked to, it solidified that education standpoint that, yes, the families are still the ones who need to take the charge, take the lead, that they still need to work on it and make it work for the child.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it hasn't changed a lot.

Speaker A:

Like I said, it's deepened, is really deep in what I really, really want people to hear.

Speaker A:

So when we named this podcast Bringing Education Home, what did you think?

Speaker A:

Did you think it would mean 200 episodes and where we are now with the kind of people we talk to, or did you think it had a different meaning and a different version?

Speaker B:

Yeah, I remember when we did name it, my mom was around and we kept coming up with ideas and she would write them up on this big white paper, on these white papers, and.

Speaker B:

And we would look at them.

Speaker B:

And when we finally settled on Bringing Education Home, she like, drew stars.

Speaker B:

I've seen flowers and flowers.

Speaker B:

And you know, when, when we named it, our, our original audience, our original avatar was entrepreneurs and, and people who are building businesses for themselves because we were entrepreneurs.

Speaker B:

And the, the idea was something that we say in our show a lot and it revolves around that third leg of the stools is entrepreneurs are spending so much time in business development because nobody knows that you don't get to do what you want.

Speaker B:

You have to do all of the stuff and learn how to do all of the stuff that you didn't think of.

Speaker B:

Marketing, advertising, logistics.

Speaker B:

There's so much more than doing what you want to do.

Speaker B:

So a whole lot of time goes into business development and then a whole lot of time goes into personal development mindset, how to work harder, how to build good habits.

Speaker B:

And through all of that, as an earlier entrepreneur, most of them are still holding onto their original jobs too.

Speaker B:

So the thing that falls apart in all of that is the family.

Speaker B:

Now entrepreneurs are out there doing all of this because they realize something's wrong and they want to step out of the rat race and, and build something for their family.

Speaker B:

But along the way they were losing their families because, and you know, that kind of happened to us.

Speaker B:

Our youngest son doesn't talk to us anymore.

Speaker B:

And so through that process, it's like we wanted to help with that, so we tried to put that family development in.

Speaker B:

And so that's, that's the way it started is entrepreneurs should take their kids out of school.

Speaker B:

It's going to give them more freedom, it's going to give them more time, it's going to open up their schedules and it's just going to make things better because what they're trying to do is make their family stronger.

Speaker B:

And what's actually happening is the app is the exact opposite.

Speaker B:

So if they went, worked with us, then they could start with what they wanted the most, which was a healthy family, and then build the business around that.

Speaker B:

And as we have grown and kept going, it's like we didn't reach that audience as quickly as we thought we would.

Speaker B:

And we started working and talking with a lot of people who couldn't take their kids out of school or who weren't entrepreneurs, but they were resonating with the messages that we were having and.

Speaker A:

That education is so much bigger than just school.

Speaker B:

And Christina, as a 27 year teacher knows how to navigate the system.

Speaker B:

So it became more about family cohesion and family togetherness and not necessarily just around homeschooling, even though we still highly, highly recommend that, especially in today's climate.

Speaker B:

But, but we soften our message because it's like there's a lot of parents who still needed our help but weren't going to be able to take their children out of school.

Speaker B:

So we started teaching them how to educate outside of the classroom, how to make sure that their family values were being addressed, how.

Speaker B:

How to learn their children's habits and what they really liked and use that to have them pull education outside of the school system to themselves.

Speaker B:

So, like, if they like dinosaurs, like, start bringing home books about dinosaurs and get them reading more or different things, like if they like dancing.

Speaker A:

And the other part of that is that education isn't just about school.

Speaker A:

School.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

We're bringing in nutrition education.

Speaker A:

We're to bring in brain science education.

Speaker A:

We're bringing in education around autism and the neurodiversity and all the different things as kids and families go through.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So this title, Bringing Education Home, has really also expanded out to all the different things, all the different modalities that families need to educate and learn about and make their family happy, healthy, and successful.

Speaker B:

And one of the reasons became it's bringing education home and not bringing school home is because you don't want to replicate the school system in your house.

Speaker B:

And so that's one of the things that most.

Speaker B:

Most parents think is like, I can't do that for seven or eight hours a day.

Speaker B:

And it's like that.

Speaker B:

That's not.

Speaker B:

That's not the thing.

Speaker B:

You're not trying to replicate the broken school system at home.

Speaker B:

You're trying to bring education home.

Speaker B:

And that's cooking and that's cleaning and that's learning, yard maintenance and house maintenance and how to be a family and how to learn how to learn and follow your passions.

Speaker B:

And so there's so much more to education than just reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Speaker B:

And if you bring the reading, writing, and arithmetic home, then all the rest of it just wraps around it so nicely.

Speaker A:

I'm wondering.

Speaker A:

I think one of the biggest lessons that we've learned through doing the show and talking with so many experts is that there's different kinds of experts and that those different kinds of experts really help parents find answers that they maybe didn't know they were looking for at first or really cementing in, oh, I am doing the right thing around this issue or this challenge with our families.

Speaker A:

So talk about that a little bit.

Speaker A:

How.

Speaker A:

How does the advice of some of our guests.

Speaker A:

How does where our guests lead us sometimes really help the family understand that a little bit more?

Speaker B:

That's an interesting question.

Speaker B:

So for.

Speaker B:

For me, it.

Speaker B:

It.

Speaker A:

They.

Speaker B:

It.

Speaker B:

At first, it's about hearing the information, because so Much of our education system is propaganda now.

Speaker B:

Even the teachers are think like taking your kids out of school and homeschooling them is a horrible thing to do.

Speaker B:

And they, they truly, truly believe that, that you need to have a licensed teacher.

Speaker B:

And as we bring our experts in, as we've talked to so many of them, and some of them still very much represent school systems, but they also realize that there is so much more that the parents can do, need to do, should be doing.

Speaker B:

Any, any teacher worth even a little bit knows that when the parents are involved, their children do better.

Speaker B:

And parents can tell when they're.

Speaker B:

When the parents aren't involved and the children struggle in school.

Speaker B:

So I'm kind of losing my thread here, but, yeah, I'm gonna let you take it from here.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's just that also when the experts come on, right.

Speaker A:

It shows another way of looking at things.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Because some people might think, oh, I have a nutrition problem going on with me and my family because we aren't eating very healthy.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

But then when we start talking about the brain scientists and they start saying, oh, well, it could be nutrition, but it could also be the way the brain is wired and how you're perceiving things, that new information, that new scope, that new perspective sometimes really helps our families circle in and find the thing that is happening with them and their family and to help their children learn some more.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And by listening to the different experts, they might recognize a problem or a situation in their household that they hadn't recognized before.

Speaker B:

And now it's like, oh, wow, I hadn't thought about that.

Speaker B:

And if they look into it, then there can be great changes made.

Speaker B:

Like, a simple one is children who can't see very well, who need glasses.

Speaker B:

They don't know that they need glasses because that's always been what they see.

Speaker B:

And then to hear that, oh, maybe my kid can't see, and then they get their vision checked and suddenly they, like, take off and are so much better.

Speaker B:

So things like that, just little nuggets that is like, oh, wow, I'm experiencing that.

Speaker B:

I wonder if that could be with what my child is going through.

Speaker A:

So our reading experts, our eye vision experts, all these different people that we bring and expose to the audience.

Speaker B:

And also one of the things that we talk about is you need to trust yourself.

Speaker B:

You're a parent.

Speaker B:

You've been with your children the longest.

Speaker B:

When you notice something is wrong, trust your gut.

Speaker B:

Follow through with that.

Speaker B:

Don't let the school district or the supposed experts or doctors dictate to you and just blindly trust.

Speaker B:

It's like, take it and then verify.

Speaker B:

Trust, but then verify.

Speaker B:

And so a lot of our experts that we have on, it's like, yes, that could be it, or it could be something else.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

So there's just so much more that is possible.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And they're not afraid to share that.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

They're not afraid to say, you know, this.

Speaker A:

This is what might be going on.

Speaker A:

And again, like, herbs said, trust and verify and check and see if there's something else that might be super important.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So when we started bringing education home, we really didn't know who would listen or share where this would go.

Speaker B:

Now that we're celebrating 200 episodes, more than 11,000 downloads, and recognition as being in the top 10% of podcasts globally, what does that growth mean to us, and what does it tell us about the conversations families are looking for?

Speaker A:

I am so super excited.

Speaker A:

And it's something that's just happened in the last 50 shows, really.

Speaker A:

Up until about show 125, 150, we were pretty steadily growing, and then all of a sudden, we hit an expert, or we were exposed.

Speaker A:

There was something in there that really resonated with people on top of what we've already been talked about, and it suddenly burst.

Speaker A:

It like, boom.

Speaker A:

All of a sudden, in three months, we were over 10,000 downloads and the top 10%, like Herb just said.

Speaker A:

But the thing that shows me the most is that what we're doing is making an impact.

Speaker A:

People are looking for these conversations, and I think part of it is something that Herb talks about a lot, is how when we're on with experts, we'll ask a question, and they'll say something like, wow, that's a great question.

Speaker A:

I haven't been asked that before.

Speaker A:

Or, wow, this is a great conversation that I was able to talk with you comfortably talk about that a little bit, because something that you say often.

Speaker A:

Yeah, just, you know, the way we connect with our experts, that lets it go deeper.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So, yeah, I love this, too, because.

Speaker B:

Makes me realize that.

Speaker B:

That I do know what I'm talking about.

Speaker B:

And why?

Speaker B:

Because we have all of these experts coming on our show, 200 of them from so many different areas, and it's like they're talking about their own expertise, and it validates the.

Speaker B:

The stuff that we have been doing and learning and learning since the start.

Speaker B:

And so me being out of the box and just a wide variety of information, the questions that I ask in the way that we go, it's like they know that we know what they're talking about.

Speaker B:

And so the questions aren't, like, written on a paper like we're kind of doing to ourselves right at the moment.

Speaker B:

It's brought through a conversation, and we have this curiosity.

Speaker B:

It's like, oh, you know what?

Speaker B:

That reminds me of this part of this kind of a coaching or idea, and this is how it kind of relates to what you're doing.

Speaker B:

And that just deepens the conversation.

Speaker B:

So there are so many times where we've actually helped our experts expand what they're doing because they didn't realize how many different aspects that that gave them.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And so by.

Speaker B:

By being able to share with the experts the corresponding or relative kind of data, then they know that we know what we're talking about, and they give us authority.

Speaker B:

And as we respond and it gives them authority.

Speaker B:

And so this ability to talk back and forth and deepen the conversation has just absolutely been tremendous.

Speaker A:

One of the things of contention between the two of us is that I always want to keep the shows a little bit shorter, and you want to go there a little bit bit longer.

Speaker A:

And I love that we kind of find that middle space, because the length of our shows allows our experts to go deep enough on the subject that they can really give some strategies and some tips and some helpful things for the parents and the audience.

Speaker A:

But also it keeps it in a space where families can listen, maybe in a car ride or while they're doing the dishes or something like that.

Speaker A:

But I think the biggest point there was that we go deeper.

Speaker A:

A lot of our experts say, oh, we.

Speaker A:

You know, I get to say, like, three things about what I really do and then never go into a deeper part of it.

Speaker A:

And that's super important to us to make sure that we are doing that deeper layer of things.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And I think another important thing is we have had people come back a year, a year and a half later and pick up the conversation from where we left off, or if they've changed what their program is, then we highlight that and bring that on.

Speaker B:

And so if.

Speaker B:

If we go back and look at some of our early episodes, they are just as evergreen as they are now.

Speaker B:

They're still just as valid, so they don't age out.

Speaker B:

If you go back and look, it's like our video quality was awful.

Speaker B:

Sometimes our sound was terrible.

Speaker B:

Sometimes the videos are kind of messed up.

Speaker B:

But the information, the quality, even from the start, people were all like that.

Speaker B:

That needs to be spread out more.

Speaker B:

And we've also done several summits, which are groups of experts coming together.

Speaker B:

And every time we're done with that, it's like, why are not more people listening to this?

Speaker B:

And the.

Speaker B:

And the experts and the panelists stick around for the whole time.

Speaker B:

There's so many summits where.

Speaker B:

Where the expert comes in for their one little bit and then they're gone.

Speaker B:

Even in live, live networking events, people come in just for their one day and they do their one thing and they take off.

Speaker B:

But when people come into our summits, they are just so blown away by the depth of information, by the authenticity of all of the people there that there's no filler.

Speaker B:

There's no.

Speaker B:

There's no just talking heads, that it's.

Speaker B:

It deep and meaningful.

Speaker B:

Even back from the very start, people are like, wow, this is great.

Speaker B:

It's like the video is awful, but that was great.

Speaker B:

So we, in a way, we've been.

Speaker B:

We've been this inside the box, outside the box, you know, from the very start.

Speaker B:

And that has just led to some amazing conversations.

Speaker B:

And just.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's amazing.

Speaker A:

200 Episodes for being the guy who is sitting there beside me having these conversations with this other person on the screen.

Speaker A:

We know that we are able to go deep with the conversations, but what have we also learned from our experts?

Speaker A:

And is there one that pops up in particular that maybe has impacted you recently?

Speaker B:

Oh, yes, one.

Speaker B:

One incredibly so.

Speaker B:

But I'll talk about a couple others maybe before that.

Speaker B:

Yeah, there's a lot of times where Christina will bring in educators that talk at a level and because she was an educator reading experts, and they're like talking up over the head and being real specific.

Speaker B:

And then I will ask questions like, okay, so you guys are educators.

Speaker B:

You know what you're talking about.

Speaker B:

Okay, I'm a dad.

Speaker B:

I don't know what I'm talking about.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

And explain this to me in this way as this question of how it'll help me and I can bring them out of the academics and put them into a reality that.

Speaker B:

That has just been so much fun.

Speaker B:

And that happens less and less now because there's a lot more terminology that.

Speaker B:

That I'm familiar with.

Speaker B:

But still, there are times where I realize that it's going up and I bring it back down for.

Speaker B:

For our families.

Speaker B:

But the one.

Speaker A:

It's also the same there for me.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Because whenever we're on more of a spirituality or more of a energetic kind of field, you get talking with the person and I'm like, wait a minute.

Speaker A:

Bring.

Speaker A:

Bring it back out to me.

Speaker A:

Who's A little bit more concrete, logical person.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And there's a lot of questions that she answers like I used to, and there's a lot of questions that I answer like she used to.

Speaker B:

And at the end of it, I was like, you're taking my answers.

Speaker B:

Stop it.

Speaker B:

It's like, I've heard you say that so many times.

Speaker B:

It's just so.

Speaker B:

It's just so natural, and I wanted to be the one to say it this time.

Speaker B:

So there's a lot of it that.

Speaker B:

That we've grown closer together by being able to now answer each other's questions and respect each other's professionals and professionalism in intelligence and perspectives.

Speaker B:

Much closer.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

So to the one that's made the most impact to you recently.

Speaker B:

To the one that made the most impact.

Speaker B:

He came on our podcast January, February, Ish.

Speaker B:

And his name was John Kennedy, and he is a neuroplastician, and he came with a set of exercises to.

Speaker B:

To strengthen your cognitive processes.

Speaker B:

And for me, many of you heard my story a bunch of times over this podcast, but I damaged my head.

Speaker B:

I suffered a series of traumatic brain injuries, and my life got seriously, seriously dark.

Speaker B:

And about four years ago, I made it down to Mexico to a special clinic, and I was able to turn that corner.

Speaker B:

And at the end of that week, it's like, okay, I'm ready to start living my life again.

Speaker B:

But I was an absolute wreck.

Speaker B:

It's like it had been 10 or 15 years of me not having a job, being very inconsistent, thinking I was going crazy, losing my mind, darkness, depression, my life being over.

Speaker B:

So I had no good habits.

Speaker B:

I had no frame of reference.

Speaker B:

And so that was about four years ago.

Speaker B:

And as I started dragging myself up.

Speaker A:

Out of that, as we started building this podcast and building this company and really relating to parents and families again,.

Speaker B:

I came back to life.

Speaker B:

I was ready to be alive again.

Speaker B:

And I'm smiling and I'm happy, and I feel better than I have ever in my life.

Speaker B:

But I still wasn't able to do a lot of things.

Speaker B:

So the woo work, the.

Speaker B:

The mindset stuff, the habit building, I couldn't get it to stick.

Speaker B:

It didn't work.

Speaker B:

And even.

Speaker B:

Even until just recently this year, it's like, there's so many things that I wanted to do, and I knew the information was in there, and I can see myself doing it before, but it didn't work.

Speaker B:

And then John Kennedy came on, and he's developed this thing called combat brain training, which is like CrossFit for your mind.

Speaker B:

It's High intensity training.

Speaker B:

And I. I took one of his free sessions with him.

Speaker B:

And I felt in my mind, in my head, that this was different.

Speaker B:

This wasn't mindset.

Speaker B:

This wasn't pushing a button and making yourself go full speed until I ran into my.

Speaker B:

Into my chasms and walls and fell off cliffs.

Speaker B:

This was simple exercises that started bringing back what.

Speaker B:

What I lost.

Speaker B:

So after the first session, I'm like, I'm in.

Speaker B:

I'm fully in.

Speaker B:

And I got certified in it, and it took me a couple of months.

Speaker B:

One of my best friends saw what I was doing, and he asked if I would take him and start working with him.

Speaker B:

And he had had a serious incident called Guillain Barre, which is where your immune system attacks your nervous system.

Speaker B:

And he became 99% paralyzed for over six months.

Speaker B:

And he's like.

Speaker B:

He couldn't even move his eyeballs or blink.

Speaker B:

And after he came out of that, he had to learn how to walk, he had to learn how to talk, he had to learn how to touch things.

Speaker B:

He didn't have his sensories again.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So he would, like, touch different shapes and different textures just so his.

Speaker B:

His mind could remember all of this.

Speaker B:

And I started doing this with him as well.

Speaker B:

And he says it's the.

Speaker B:

It's more valuable than any of the other physical.

Speaker B:

Physical therapy and stuff he's doing, the way that it's settling him and how it's affecting his life and.

Speaker B:

And I'm.

Speaker B:

I'm the same way.

Speaker B:

It's giving me back the capacity.

Speaker B:

I'm finishing projects, I'm starting projects.

Speaker B:

They take way less time than they used to because it's like I can remember and I can plan and run through it.

Speaker B:

And so John Kennedy gave me that missing piece.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

To.

Speaker A:

Now you get to do what you're bringing to all of our.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Now I'm bringing it to all of our.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

To all of our experts.

Speaker B:

It's like anybody that wants to listen to me, it's like free sessions.

Speaker B:

No problem, because you're gonna feel it.

Speaker B:

And even after one free session, your brain is going to be permanently better than it was before.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's not.

Speaker B:

It's not a fake thing.

Speaker B:

It is a thing that happens right then and you get the benefit for the rest of your life.

Speaker B:

And as you continue to do this, you get stronger and stronger.

Speaker B:

And I have my one.

Speaker B:

My.

Speaker B:

My first client and me showing that that this is changing.

Speaker B:

Can you see the difference in how I've changed?

Speaker A:

Yeah, I can see the difference in him and the Beauty of this is that having this as another leg of vibrant family education.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

We're still doing the podcast, Bringing Education Home.

Speaker A:

We're still going to be introducing you to all these wonderful people.

Speaker A:

But we also have another leg of vibrant family that Herb has now that can help families.

Speaker B:

Is it just her that has it?

Speaker A:

No, I have it, too.

Speaker A:

I love working with the Littles with it as well.

Speaker A:

But, you know, that's.

Speaker A:

That's more him.

Speaker A:

I still am doing the parent mentoring and things like that, but just, you know, knowing that it's here and that our podcast, Bringing Education Home, has brought changes to not only him, but to me and the way we get to present and help families in a whole new way.

Speaker A:

So, you know, that is just super exciting to me, as well as being our 200th episode.

Speaker B:

And I say you are being a little modest because you do have a couple of clients that you do this a little bit with.

Speaker B:

And is it changing their lives?

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It's changing.

Speaker A:

The kiddos that I still tutor and work with is changing their lives of their functioning, their abilities and things like that.

Speaker A:

But this isn't all about brain training and promoting that.

Speaker A:

It was just that this is such an exciting space.

Speaker A:

Space for us that this 200 episodes of bringing Education Home has brought this to us, and now we can bring it to other people and that we're still planning on continuing the Bringing Education Home to keep going every single.

Speaker A:

Every single week, every single month.

Speaker B:

So our podcast is 200 episodes and it's about three years.

Speaker B:

Ish.

Speaker B:

I think.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And if you just kind of listen to that conversation, I wasn't working very well, so I pretty much just showed up for this part of it.

Speaker B:

Christina would send me the bio.

Speaker B:

I would read the bio, get.

Speaker B:

Sometimes I would get a little bit.

Speaker A:

Of information before that pre conversation when needed.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

But it was like I would sit down here and I would be hitting this just blank out of the gate.

Speaker B:

And as I heard, curiosity would come up and I asked questions.

Speaker B:

So all of the stuff in the background, the.

Speaker B:

The creation of the platform, scheduling, that.

Speaker B:

That was this amazing lady here, because I wasn't capable.

Speaker B:

I didn't have the capacity.

Speaker B:

So after all of this, how.

Speaker B:

How did.

Speaker B:

Putting together that platform.

Speaker A:

How.

Speaker B:

In the.

Speaker B:

In the systems you developed around it, how.

Speaker A:

How that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, how.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Well, actually, what has it led to for me?

Speaker A:

And so for me, on the backside of vibrant family Education, I have also become a networker, a person who brings things to life.

Speaker A:

So not only this podcast, but like her was saying, the family summits, right?

Speaker A:

And then we're all.

Speaker A:

I'm also helping other experts bring their summits to life.

Speaker A:

So, again, Vibrant Family has reached different levels in the fact that we're helping parents, but then we're able to help the experts.

Speaker A:

Now we're able to help actual training.

Speaker A:

There's different facets of what we do connected to bring the education home that is now very solid, very moving forward.

Speaker A:

And it's just an amazing space to be in as we both are stepping into this.

Speaker A:

Not new because it's a continuation of our journey, but a journey that is very meaningful and purposeful as we're continuing on.

Speaker B:

And I think one of the biggest joys is when we get to see our impact coming back to us across the Internet.

Speaker B:

Somebody else changed.

Speaker B:

Somebody else says something like, we've been doing something, and we see the impact that we have, the ripples coming back in the way maybe people change and upgrade their programs or change a little bit of their audience.

Speaker B:

And it's just so amazing when.

Speaker B:

When what we have gone out comes back.

Speaker B:

And sometimes it's better.

Speaker B:

It's like it's just an idea and they take it and they make it into a reality.

Speaker B:

And it's like, yes, we're.

Speaker B:

We are.

Speaker B:

We are making a difference in what we are doing.

Speaker A:

And one of the other things I did want to bring up right here near the end is that we also have loved it whenever we have young people on our show.

Speaker A:

So we have now interviewed throughout this past season several young people, sometimes with their parent, sometimes on their own, back and forth.

Speaker A:

And we're bringing more of those younger voices in as well.

Speaker A:

And we're planning on doing that in the future because they are our future.

Speaker A:

We need to make sure we're hearing them in ways that we can help connect with them and be with them.

Speaker A:

Just recently, we had someone on our show that was talking about maybe the gap, the bridge between our older parents and our young people who are growing up in such a different society.

Speaker A:

We've had a young entrepreneur on with her mom that actually said, you know, thank you for talking to me instead of just my mom about this and having her voice on there.

Speaker A:

We had an author and her son, and they compared notes around sharing and writing together and then writing different books and things like that.

Speaker A:

So all of those voices are being heard out there.

Speaker A:

And I am just so blessed that Bring Education Home is going strong, that we're continuing on.

Speaker A:

Season three starts next week.

Speaker A:

So you hear this one.

Speaker A:

And then season three is going to end.

Speaker A:

Up, starting out there.

Speaker A:

Final words.

Speaker A:

Season.

Speaker B:

Season.

Speaker B:

The next 300 is 100 a season.

Speaker A:

Yes, 100 is the season because our.

Speaker B:

First hundred was over a year.

Speaker B:

And now we're actually starting to release two episodes a week because we've had so many people reach out and want to be on our show that if we were doing one a week, then they wouldn't be on our show for six or seven months or so.

Speaker B:

So we've started releasing two a week because it's like we want this information out there.

Speaker B:

We want this to be.

Speaker B:

And we're still having fun.

Speaker B:

We want this to be.

Speaker B:

To be something that somebody can go to and get good, valuable information.

Speaker B:

And so.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Are we going to create a new intro for season three?

Speaker A:

We might.

Speaker A:

Oh, that's a lot of pressure, though.

Speaker B:

I hadn't thought about that.

Speaker A:

Anyway, thank you for joining us today.

Speaker A:

Hopefully, this behind the scenes look of bringing education home, how we're feeling, what we're excited about, what we've been learning all throughout the.

Speaker B:

You're shortening it before we got to our last question.

Speaker A:

Now the ask questions.

Speaker A:

Fine.

Speaker A:

It's talking about this.

Speaker A:

Exactly what we just said.

Speaker A:

The growth.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And how we're looking forward to continuing to serve you, our audience, our families.

Speaker A:

Bring education home.

Speaker A:

Love every single day of it.

Speaker A:

And create the what the happy, healthy, and successful kids.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker B:

Why are you crying?

Speaker A:

I'm not crying.

Speaker A:

Got you.

Speaker B:

I'm not crying.

Speaker B:

You're crying.

Speaker A:

No, it's that passion.

Speaker A:

Is that love.

Speaker A:

So thank you for being with us through 200 episodes.

Speaker A:

Looking forward to the next 100, which we actually already have 20 of them recorded in the background ready to be dropped for you guys.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

Love that.

Speaker A:

And that's why it's two times a week.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And don't just, like, keep watching the current episodes.

Speaker B:

Have yourself a laugh.

Speaker B:

Go back and watch it.

Speaker B:

Some of our corny first ones where we did the introduction live every time.

Speaker B:

Hi, I'm Herb.

Speaker A:

And I'm Christina.

Speaker A:

Together we bring you ideas that are.

Speaker B:

Both inside and outside the box.

Speaker B:

So go back, check it out and.

Speaker B:

And look, it's like we're still the same people that we were back then, but we're a lot, a lot more confident, a lot deeper.

Speaker B:

Because after all of the people that we've talked to, all of the feedback that we've gotten, it just shows that we're.

Speaker B:

That we're doing the right thing, that we are out here trying to make the world a better place.

Speaker A:

And that's what we hope for you, too.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And it feels like.

Speaker B:

It feels like it's gonna.

Speaker B:

It's starting to happen.

Speaker B:

So any day now, we're gonna be an overnight success.

Speaker B:

It's gonna happen soon.

Speaker B:

And, yeah, hop on board.

Speaker B:

Enjoy the ride.

Speaker A:

And please share.

Speaker B:

Please share.

Speaker A:

Share with families who need this.

Speaker A:

Families who, you know, could, you know, learn a little bit from some of the silly questions that we ask people.

Speaker A:

Know some of the amazing questions.

Speaker A:

Thank you for being my co host.

Speaker B:

Thank you for being my co host.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Thank you for being amazing.

Speaker B:

Thank you for sticking with this because, man, you were so scared when we started, and.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And now you just are a pro and you're helping other people, and it's just amazing to watch.

Speaker B:

You go.

Speaker A:

All right, audience, it is time.

Speaker A:

Thank you for being here.

Speaker A:

Thank you for sharing, and bye for now.

Speaker B:

Bye for now.

Speaker A:

Oh, the silent co host right there.

Speaker B:

Yeah, she's actually been in almost every podcast we've ever done.

Speaker B:

Asleep on my Lap.

Speaker B:

And our silent third partner.

Speaker B:

Every once in a while, she gets a little listening.

Speaker B:

Yeah, sometimes it's a little frustrating because she gets a little wiggly, but again, she's awesome.

Speaker A:

All right, bye, everybody.

Speaker B:

Bye for now.
